How was your weekend?

Jason and I had a wonderful weekend. We bought two brand new trucks!!! We may not be able to buy a house, but we can buy really nice trucks. We have decided that our apartment is not too bad especially at $460 a month. Any mortgage that we qualify for will be at least $1000 a month not including taxes and insurance.

Friday we got a letter in the mail from Ford Credit that said we could trade in our 2005 Escape and get a lower interest rate and lower payment on a 2007 Escape. Well the dealer didn't have any 2007 Escapes, so he ran our numbers and we were looking at trucks for me. While we were doing the paperwork, Jason was talking about his Dodge Ram and the guy asked how many miles it had and what we were paying for it. He worked us out a deal and because we bought two in one day through Ford, they gave us an amazing discount. I am now driving a Ford F-150 SuperCrew Cab and Jason is driving a Ford F-150 regular cab. Of course the plan is that we rotate every week, so that I don't pile the miles on my truck. (I did 70000 miles in 2 1/2 years.)

His parents are mad at us, but oh well. His parents have a ton of credit card debt and now with the divorce, my FIL is finally straightening his life out. MIL is still behind on her payments. We paid off our credit card debt and unfortunately, the marks that were put on our credit report before we consolidated won't come off for another two years which is why we can't get a house. Once those negative marks come off, our credit score should climb up and we can look for a house then.
