She doesn't need surgery

Woo hoo! My sister just called and said that the surgeon doesn't see a need for surgery. Her growth plate looks fine and with the cast, the break should heal just fine.

I know this is such a relief for my sister because she was worried about paying the bills. She is going to apply for financial assistance through the hospital, so that she doesn't have to pay as much (or at all) for the doctor's visit today. She's also going to apply for the state's children's insurance policy, so they'll have it in the future.
